Learn to Skate

Overview

The "Learn to Skate" program is designed for children aged 3 to 12 and is taught by a group of dedicated middle and high school figure skaters, as well as boys and girls high school hockey players. This program caters to a wide range of skill levels, separating participants into groups based on their abilities. Whether kids are taking their first steps on the ice or are Mite-level hockey players looking to refine their skating skills, this program provides a supportive and inclusive environment for them to learn and grow in their ice skating abilities.

Equipment:

  • Helmets are mandatory for all skaters (both hockey & bike helmets are acceptable)
  • Skates are available for children to borrow, however quantities are limited
  • Additional equipment such as hockey gloves, shin/knee and elbow pads are highly recommended
  • Alternative outer wear including winter gloves, snow pants and jacket is also acceptable

Registration:

  • Cost: $125 for the season or $10 per session
  • You may register at the rink or by emailing Justin Hauge at npacc@bevcomm.net
  • Children may attend Learn to Skate at any point during the season and will be separated into the appropriate skill group during the first few minutes of the session
